It's FREE!!! The Town of Southern Pines is holding a HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION DAY & PAPER SHREDDING SERVICE.
Have you been stockpiling those half empty paint cans in your garage? The picture to the left only exhibits half of what I have accumulated in my garage. I'd be embarrassed to show you all of it!
Mark your calendar for November 13thand carry your Hazardous Household Waste to Pinecrest High School for recycling! Paper shredding is also available on location.
Here are some examples of items they will accept: Paint/Paint Thinners, Furniture Strippers/Finishing Products, Solvents/Degreasers, Wood Preservatives, Polishes, Aerosols, Fluorescent Light Tubes, Compact Fluorescent Bulbs, NiCad Batteries, Alkaline Batteries, Lithium Batteries, Propane Cylinders, Swimming Pool Chemicals, Used Motor Oil, Antifreeze, Gasoline, Hydraulic/Transmission/Brake Fluids.
Pesticides, herbicides, fungicides and insecticides will be accepted but MUST be in its original containers for identification purposes.
