An announcement made on October 13, 2010 names Spring St. in Eureka Springs, Arkansas one of America's top ten streets. I hope you'll check out the link below and read about the ten streets so honored.

If you've read my blog you know that I'm bullish on this northwest Arkansas town I've called home since April of 1981. The entire downtown of Eureka Springs is on the National Register of Historic Places. Many buildings on Spring St are built of native limestone quarried just a few miles away.

Tourism is the driving force here in this circa 1880 spa town.

It just so happens that my wife M. and I have a 25 year old specialty retail store located on Spring St. the storefront is pictured below. Life here is a celebration of small town America that we have grown to love

Charles--Well how cool is that??!! You own a shop on one of the ten best streets? And I am sure you have your real estate cards in a prominent place there. When tourists come through and fall in love, your card is right there so they can call you on the spot. Really, really neat. I live in a town that still has a town square with the original court house and jail----sitting across from the new County Courthouse---where today meets yesterday. We are lucky to have the best of both worlds!
