Meep Meep!!

Real life Road Runner in the desert near the condo we just boughtYou all likely remember the famous Road Runner cartoon character.

And certainly Wile E. Coyote

No matter what Wile E. Coyote did, The Road Runner triumphed, seemingly with little effort other than speed. And a bit of bravado. "Meep Meep I beat you." Sort of thumbing his nose, ah, beak, at the beaten, temporarily, Wile E. Coyote

I recall wishing, at times, that Wile E. would triumph, but knowing at some level that would never happen.

There are lots of Wile E. Coyotes out there. Not necessarily people but situations and problems that arise to try and knock us down. Unlike The Road Runner, no matter how fast you are, some problems can't be overcome.  Nor can you run away from them, since they tend not to go away...like Wile E. Coyote. The important thing is to keep it all in perspective and not let these issues, road blocks, and inconveniences get the best of us.

Have you ever pondered whether The Road Runner said "Meep Meep" or "Beep Beep?"  Yahoo answers

For a trip back in time, enjoy this short cartoon.

I think it was BEEP BEEP.  You are right about moving past the negative.  We need to keep moving forward.

Jeff ... Wile Coyote is funny with a good message.  "Meep Meep" or "Beep Beep" reminds that we have used that kind of word comparison during warmups for choirs I have been involved with, learning to speak the consonants in voice.

very well put.  We have to keep focused on the goal the plans may need to be changed but never the goal.

It was definitely BEEP BEEP.  We've owed two classic 1971 RoadRunner Cars, fun stuff and great message.

jeff, i'm sure it was beep, beep...but i'm more interested in what that bird is because it does look like a miniature road runner...and is he moving into this place...probably nesting overhead.  Flashbacks...thanks

Jeff,

Cute!  I do remember hoping the Coyote would win.  Good reminder to sit back and take stock of what's going on.  I cannot change the bad economy, but I can change how my business model is set up within it!

All the best, Michelle

Hi Jeff, Pretty cute. Love this post. When I was in the desert last year I saw a male and female seeming having the best time chasing each other. Back and forth. I tried to get good photos but they wouldn't be still long enough to get the photos in very good focus. I have since learned how to do that. Next time. Love the photo and they are really fun to watch. Good message embedded here as well. Here is a slightly out of focus RoadRunner with a wad of stuff, I have no idea what it is. Maybe they were building a nest.WilliamJohnsonPhotography | RoadRunner

Jeff it is clearly "beep, beep", what kind of warped mind would think that it is "meep, meep"?

Even spell check does not recognize "meep, meep" :)

Jeff,

There is something about a roadrunner that makes them very funny to look at.

I loved seeing road runners running alongside my car when I lived in Phoenix.  The cartoon memories are even more dear and you managed a great message to go along with it! Meep! beep!

That was fun, Jeff.  And here I always assumed it was beep beep.  This is also a case of be careful what you wish for.

I concur with Jane... I too thought it was beep beep. The road runner never gets caught by the coyote.

Hi Jeff ~ That comment stream in Yahoo Answers is hilarious! This reminds me of one oddity I've always remembered. In Medfield, where I lived when I was little, everyone "peeped" the horn.  We also always went "uptown" not down. Go figure.
