Paying it Forward at the pump
Tish Lloyd reminds us that there are many opportunities to Pay it Forward every day. The donor received even greater pleasure than the recipient. If you do not have the money, offer your time and influence others by your positive actions.
Blooming in Maryland.
This week has been full of opportunities to Pay it Forward and do something for someone else with no expectation of anything in return. And I took advantage of every one I could find!
My favorite? Monday, while gassing up the car, Cheeky Assistant took notice of a car 2 pumps over. She's very observant and she noticed that the young woman with 2 small children in the back seat of her car (which looked to be on it's last legs), was looking for something under all the seats and in her purse. CA watched for a minute and realized the young lady was trying to collect enough coins to put gas in the car. With gas at about $2.68 a gallon here, it takes a lot of pennies to gas up.
CA pointed it out to me as she reached in the car for her purse. HA! I was faster that day! As this does not happen often, it is worth a mention here. A quick glance at the pump number, run inside and hand the cashier a little cash. Told her to tell the young woman it was a Pay it Forward and to do the same for someone else whenever she could.
Then it was back out to the car to make our getaway before the young lady realized who had done it. I passed her on my way out, and I said a prayer that things start looking up for her soon.
And then it was off to show property and look for another chance to Pay it Forward. Funny how they are all around us if we simply pay attention.
I do not share my stories of paying it forward for recognition. I share them so that others might be inspired to do what they can, when they can, where they can. No more, no less.
