Any comments as to whether quilts are helpful in staging?

Please share any ideas or comments for or against using quilts in staging homes.  My thoughts are that quilts are colorful additions that could be a wall hanging in one room and a bed covering another room.  I don't stage homes (except my own).  You would probably want to stay away from photo quilts since they are personal and you would want potential buyers to place themselves in the home rather than see the home as someone else's home.  This would fall under the same reason why personal photos are removed when preparing a home to go on the market.

I don't use quilts in my staging business because I look for things that are neutral and can be interchanged in different types of homes.  Also, some quilts are so beautiful they would draw the buyer's attention away from the home's features and that is the exact opposite of the goal in staging.

I totally agree with Judy.  Quilts are a wonderful accessory for a lived in home but not for a home to sell.

They would be good for staging a quilt shop to be sold to quilters...

Maybe a neutral quilt that isn't attention-grabbing would be alright.
