Why Aren't You A Broker?
I have been thinking about getting my broker's license and I came to Active Rain to see what others thought. I found this post and it just reiterated to me the reasons why I'm just going to do it. There's so many advantages to having your broker's license that I can't think of a single reason why I shouldn't just go ahead and do it. I'm signing up for the course right after this.
I wonder about this quite often. It just seems to me that if Real Estate is your chosen career then wouldn't it make sense to have complete control over your business?
After a very short time in Real Estate I knew I needed to have complete control of how I worked and how I got paid. My success or failure needed to be because of the decisions that I made not because of decisions made by another.
TLW and I opened Tutas Towne Realty even before I was a Broker. Our first year in business we had a "Rent a Broker". He was paid 10% of GCI just to be the Broker of Record for our company. He had no say so in the way we ran our business. As soon as I got my Broker's license he was fired.
Being the Broker allows me to be flexible. I make the rules and therefore can change them any time I want. I'm able to adapt quicker to changes in our market.
Plus I get to keep all of the money!! That's HUGE in my opinion.
So....why aren't you a Broker? What's keeping you from taking this step in your business?
Are you facing foreclosure in Florida?
Do NOT be foreclosed on! Avoid foreclosure. Short Sales DO close.
