Does Brand Matter Anymore?

Does market share matter anymore? Is everything about a personal connect and engagement on Facebook or Social Media?

What do you think?

If you have clients that are relocating to Toronto or Mississauga I would be pleased to send you a referral and a tin of Tim Horton's Coffee. Its the Canadian way, eh.

I think that brand loyalty will always matter to a certain percentage of our clients.

I've been reading a lot about social media lately, and what you put out there on the social media IS your brand.

Gary Vaynerchuk in Crush It recommends you build your own brand online, even if working for someone else. I see his point, too. You take your reputation with you everywhere you go.

Personally, in my shopping, I am very loyal to brands and service providers. If I like a brand, I tell many people about it. I do try new things from time to time because I don't want to miss out on something better for loyalty's sake, but 9 times out of 10 I'll go back to the original brand anwyay.

A service provider, though, is a different story. If I like the way someone provides service, I have the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" attitude. Good service providers are hard to find.

Hi David, I think that social media allows us to etend our reach, and our relationships substancially. I can build relationships even before I've flown out to meet them!
