Not sure what HIP TIPZ is?  Please click on Our Introduction to find out more.  Now, let's get down to business -it's time to roll:

HIP TIPZ #156

Do you have a small kitchen?  Have mirrors professionally installed on the doors of a few of your cabinets.  Then have the mirrors framed to look like glass windows.  Your kitchen will appear larger and brighter.  Try to avoid doing this in an area subject to grease splatters or you'll constantly be cleaning them.

HIP TIPZ #157

Display an attractive cookbook on a bookstand opened to a colourful photo.  Place it beneath your under counter lighting.

HIP TIPZ #158

A neat trick for photographing outdoor flowers close-up: hold a piece of black construction paper or black foamboard behind the flowers to remove background distractions.  Of course if you're a professional photographer, you'll know how to shoot the photos without the background being an issue, but if you're like me, you'll find this very useful.

HIP TIPZ #159

A half wall will visually divide 2 rooms without closing the space off too much.  Include a decorative column for some architectural interest.

HIP TIPZ #160

Take close-up photos of your special occasion silverware.  Have them blown up and plaqued for your kitchen - an interesting piece of artwork.  While you're at it, why don't you start using that special occasion silverware more often.  What are you saving it for?  (Easier said that done, but I'm trying to adopt that philosophy) :-)
