Contra Costa Mineral and Gem Society's Annual Gem and Mineral Show November 6-7

I have visited this show in the past, it is very well done and interesting. There are many vendors with rocks, minerals, fossils, precious and semi-precious stones, settings, beads, and equipment. There are also demonstrations. My daughter loves to visit as well. The show is open to the public and tickets are just $5 (children under 16 or Scouts in uniform that enter with an adult are free).

This is held at the Centre Concord, 5298 Clayton Road (near the intersection of Ygnacio Valley Road), Concord, California. The event is open both Saturday and Sunday from 10am-5pm.

A favorite display is the flourescent room, where they display rocks and minerals under ultra-violet light. It's quite a sight to see. They have a virtual display on their website.

Chris, this sure does sound like a mighty fine and fun event to besure to pay a visit to. It sure is a nive thing they are doing, by leting children under 16 and Scouts in uniform attend free. I really enjoy the beads vendors of events like this, I can always use at least a few more black and white beads.
