Denver Historic Walking Tour Highlights Fall Colors

Last Friday, I participated in a Denver historic walking tour which highlighted not only the local architecture but the wonderful fall colors. The tour was put on by The Daughters of the American Revolution (Colorado Chapter) and guided by local historian and writer, Phil Goodstein.

Mr. Goodstein held the crowd's attention as he combined a great sense of humor with historical facts. The area we covered was in the Cheesman Park neighborhood.

As we walked the beautiful historic streets of Denver, the fall colors accentuated the beautiful old homes and parks.

Having an opportunity to do a walking tour of historic Denver with a knowledgeable and entertaining guide was a truly delightful experience.

Great photos - I love those group house walks.  We have been planning to do one in Oak Park, a section of Chicago that has many Frank Lloyd Wright homes.

Looks like there's a lot of community spirit! Nice mature colorful trees too! I grew up in Chicago and to get to my grandmother's house we had to pass through Oak Park and drive by one of the Frank Lloyd Wright homes. It was always fun!

Patricia - my son now lives in Chicago. I will try to see some of Wright's homes on my next visit.

William - I took quite a few photos, especially closeups of colorful leaves. The whole excursion was delightful. Thank you for your nice comments.

Toni - Mr. Goodstein was a hoot. His sense of humor combined with his depth of knowledge of historic Denver made for a great tour! I hope I can catch another one soon.
