Hope Everyone had a Happy Halloween! I won’t say much more about that holiday because I think I pretty much covered the Westchester Halloween scene from top to bottom. The one thing I like about Halloween is that its the one day that you can wear just about ANYTHING you want – even if you are grown up. Sadly, Sunday is a work day for me so I had to attend any festivities disguised as myself. It’s an interesting costume – and I tend to wear it most every day. Not to imaginative I grant you – but there it is.
The photo to the right was taken just outside the the Tarrytown Music Hall near dusk on Halloween. I had been in the area and had stopped by Coffee Labs for a coffee and there was Casper doing his Halloween haunting just a mile or so away from the Headless Horseman Bridge..
The photos to the left were taken in the same place. I thought the Victorian turret on the Music Hall looked like the classic haunted house and the scarecrow on the street below was a nice complement to the whole scene. It certainly is a great spot to set up shop for Halloween night!
Finally, there is the random photo that I snapped at the dog park a couple of days before Halloween. It was getting dark although the sun was still peeking through the leaves giving us a kind of surreal bright light. I was trying to take a photo of the foliage and suddenly my white husky – Tundra worked her way into the shot. Given her white coat against the bright leaves – she almost looks like a fantom ghost. Both of my Siberians are all white and I often think that the canine ghost look is the perfect contrast to Halloween’s traditional black cat.
