Prices Up, Sales Volume Up in Marshfield

One of the South Shore's best kept secrets is Marshfield.  Marshfield offers some of the best beaches this side of the Cape Bridges, and a diversity of housing stock for almost every price point.  A town often overshadowed up its peers, Marshfield offers some great values that truly warrant a look.

In the month of October 2010, the Marshfield real estate market saw 29 homes for sale sell at an average sales price of $452,017.  The average time on the market crept up to 147 days from 105 in the period a year prior.  This is a very favorable comparison to the 24 homes that sold at an average price of $349,600 in October of 2009.  Given the fact that the market did not have the benefit of the first time home buyer tax credit to stimulate the market, these are very positive numbers for the market.
