The option I have taken is rent for $1500 mo. They wanted $359,000 to purchase plus high taxes in an upscale community. The investor told the Builder enuf already. Get me some return after being on the market for 450 days. After the 18 mo. lease expires I have option to buy on a Contract for Deed but why buy when you can rent much cheaper. Never thought I would pick renting over buying but it just makes more sense.

Rent to own only works for some properties and for some buyers. It is not for everyone. That is why it is important to explore your options! Thanks Daniel for sharing your experience.

Sellers are much more willing to explore different options. Buyers seem more wary and the younger generation appears to be willing to be less tied down with homes feeling that renting allows them to move on quicker if need be. Nice looking home, three options, sure it will move quickly.

I have no doubt these three properties will be scooped up before the end of the year!

Why do I love rent to own so much? Because, it is a win-win for both buyer and seller. Here, we will focus on the seller because the benefits for the buyer are quick and obvious. They don’t need a huge down payment or very good credit and they have the option to buy the home later on when they might be in a better financial situation.
If you are interested more about rent to own transactions, I have here an article from a mahopac ny real estate broker.
