I was / am a member of Inspectionnews.net. The site is amazing for the education you receive from other people in the industry. I also belong to a couple of other forums that relate to the Home Inspection field.
One day, as I was reading, someone mentioned AR, however, not in a very good light. It seems that this person was booted off of AR for getting into a urinating contest with some RE agents on the blog. Something about RE agents calling HIs "deal Killers"
I was curious, so, I came on over and started reading.
It soon dawned on me that AR is much more than just RE agents posting properties that they have for sale. Although if you click on "BLOGS" it sure seems to be that way sometimes. Almost looks like an MLS.
Anyhow, I discovered that where InspectionNews.net was a forum for HIs with discussions focusing mostly on HI issues, AR provided a forum that allowed discussions from all the disciplines involved in the real estate transaction.
I also discovered, after joining in, and writing several posts, that Google had picked up on my profile on AR.
That was special.....
I had been in the middle of attempting to give my web site some ranking on the search engines and learned amongst other things that ranking depended on link back from other sites.
Here on AR, I got discussion AND SEO what a bonus....
I have also read on here where you are more readily picked up by google if you are "featured"
I found out how to go about it and started posting for points... (hey... I didn't write the rules) but I will play BY the rules.
So... my blog might not be about Real Estate content, Sometimes it's not even about HI content, Sort of like my life, there is an eclectic quality to my blog... a little of this... alittle of that.... Some Humor, some HI stuff, Some RE stuff... you get the picture.
There is one thing that annoys the carp out me though....
In an attempt to get those "Almighty Points" there are actually people on here that CHEAT.....
Thats right... CHEAT
As I post my blogs and comments, eclectic as they are, I find that there are people around me that cut and paste their blogs and re-Post them as "NEW" blogs.
Word for word....
Same address on their for sales...
Same headers on the blog.....
COME ON PEOPLE.... It's OK to go after the points... but, for goodness sake.... CUT AND PASTE??????
At least post a joke......
or go on a rant like I just did.
