In April 2011, I will, again, join the Dana Farber Marathon Challenge (DFMC) Team in running the Boston Marathon. As I did last year, I run in honor of my father, Richard Bradley, Sr., who has made tremendous strides against cancer due to organizations such as the Dana Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI). Dad was diagnosed with lung cancer in October of 2008. At that time his progn
osis was bleak. Through treatment and research like that developed at the DCFI, his cancer has stopped
progressing. I know firsthand how researchlike this impacts patients and their loved ones.
This year, my goal is to raise $5000 for the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research. The Barr Program supports the work of gifted young scientists on the cutting edge of developing better cure rates and enhancing patients' quality of life. The DFMC directs 100% of funds raised to the Barr Program.
I hope you will support my challenge by giving a gift to help fight against cancer. The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and I thank you for helping us reach the ultimate finish line: A world without cancer.
With great appreciation and many inspired miles to go!
