My Lords and Ladies

You are hereby cordially invited to attend the
39th Annual Renaissance Arts Faire
hosted by the Dona Ana Arts Council

For two days, Las Cruces' Young Park is transformed into a medieval playland, full of Royalty, knights, ladies in waiting and even an appearance by Magellan, The Young Park Lake Dragon.  (He's behaved for a long time - who knows what could happen this weekend!)

Vendors from all over the southwest - 150 in all - sell their wares.  You'll find beautiful southwest art and pottery, handwoven items, musical instruments....the list goes on and on.  You can also find costumes, swords and that suit of armor you've always wanted.  Well, maybe not the suit of armor but you will find a nice sword to take home to the family!

The park is alive with music, too.  There usually are strolling minstrels as well as local and regional bands set up on a stage near the lake.  I'm guessing that if Magellen doesn't like what he hears, he lets them know.  He's been known to belch out some fire every once in a while.

The festival is very child friendly, too.  There is a wonderful children's area set up where your kids can create arts and crafts in the form of a crown, play games and maybe even challenge a knight to a duel.

The Faire runs Saturday 10 to 5pm and Sunday 10 to 4pm.  Admission is $5 for adults, kids under 12 get in free.  Service animals are the only pets allowed so please leave your furry friends at home.

Avoid parking hassles and take the free shuttle near Cineport 10 movie theaters at the Mesilla Valley Mall. The shuttle will run every 10 to 15 minutes, beginning at 10 a.m. both days

Oh yeah - take my advice:  Don't miss out on enjoying a Rat On A Stick.  Much better than a turkey leg, in my opinion!
