Carmel, Indiana is a northern suburb (or edgecity) of Indianapoils.  Carmel has seperated itself from most cities around the country by its high stardards and use of roundabouts throughout the city.  It is redeveloping itself as a destination for the arts, shopping, and business.

Recently started was the city center development which is going to create a new downtown for Carmel.  This is to include shops, residence, hotel, and the $80 million Carmel Performing Arts Center.  The 1,600 seat concert hall for the Carmel Symphony Orchrastra, and a 500-seat multipurpose theatre.

Also recently completed is the new Monon Center.  The center straddles both sides of the five mile monon trail which connects to the portion that goes through downtown Indianapolis.  This also includes several pools, waterslides, fitness center.
