November 6th I'm an incredibly happy man - there are numerous things to be excited about.....and I continue to try to share that joy with others who don't know about one very special event - the DECATUR WINE FESTIVAL. No, it's not the Catalina Wine Mixer....it's the DECATUR WINE FESTIVAL in Decatur Square.
From 1-4 pm you get the pleasure of sampling an incredible amount of wines - both local and international & sampling some of the best food that the Decatur area restaurants have to offer.
There are organic & sustainable wines to taste and over 350 additional domestic & international wines to appreciate. To go along with the incredibly diverse varietals to sample you can enjoy tastings from the following local restaurants (this is a partial list): The Iberian Pig, Saba, Watershed, Zucca, Farmstead 303, Capozzi's, The Mercantile, Parker's on Ponce, & More! All of this enjoyed while listening to live music under the gazebo.

You can take MARTA right into the Decatur Square and walk upstairs to enjoy the headache of trying to find a parking space & completely avoiding the issue of drinking and driving.
If you decide to linger around after the Wine Festival many restaurants have specials for Festival goers. This will be the 1st year I'm not able to attend the Festival....but I'll only be a few feet away as 2 of my closest friends - Matthew Brothers & Anna Newell will be married at the Old Courthouse in Decatur Square.......so if any wine vendors want to share some free samples with the wedding party we won't complain :) And another member of the wedding party, Montoya Ho-Sang would appreciate a special sampling as it is her birthday.....and we celebrated her birthday in style at the Decatur Wine Festival for the last few years.
