Macy's Christmas Tree

Ok, Maybe it's not the first Christmas Tree of the season but it's the first one I've seen. I'll have to walk by the other department stores over the weekend and check them out. Early?

Hi Mitchell... NO!  It's still too early!  Usually I say not before Thanksgiving, but since it's Macy's and they need it up for the Parade I would give them the week OF Thanksgiving, but November 5 is taking advantage of my forgiving nature!  :-)

Hi Joan, I thought the same thing. It must be the economy, they need more time.

Steve, I didn't go in, Just was walking by but the store was decorated for Christmas. In November I guess they should be saying "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas" since the next holiday is Thanksgiving.

Mitchell - It must be an amazing experience to sell real estate in New York. Not only is the market high end, but you meet very interesting people!

Hi Mitchell~  It is a little early, but since Christmas decorations are so much work, I guess they just want us to enjoy them as long as possible!  That really is a beautiful tree!

I was in London at the beginning of October.  They already had installed the Xmas decorations on Oxford St.  Pretty soon this will all start at Easter.

This just feels too early for my taste.  After Thanksgiving is time enough.

For me, it's never too early for Christmas................I could look at Christmas decorations all year long..................there is something "magical" about it, and it brings me back to my childhood.

Mitchell, thanks for the great photo.

As a young girl, one of my biggest treats was to go see the tree in Rockefeller Center. But, now, since Christmas decorations go up so early, I feel that the anticipation and excitment of the holiday are diluted.

IMHO, I believe that if retail would go back to waiting until Black Friday, more people would shop and spend more money because the anticipation of the holiday would build up and create more of a buzz.

I agree that it's too early, but it must be happening all over the place.  One local radio station was talking about seeing the first tree yesterday.  I love the Christmas holiday too much to mind though.  =)

Hi Steve, It is a big tree, but it looks tiny with the Empire State Building in the background

Hi Todd and Divona, Thanks,I enjoy selling real estate in NYC. I think of each neighborhood like a small town.

Vicki, It really is a nice tree. It is above the entrance.

Mathew, Thanks for stopping by.

Juli, less than 60 days wow. Our office Christmas party is already scheduled.

Jane, Easter LOL

Ruthmarie, It's not even cold yet.

Roger, There is something magical and festive about Christmas decorations.

Patricia, It will be a long celebration this year

Jeffrey, I know, it was just summer. Timer flies.

Peggy, Love the tree in Rockefeller Center and the ice skaters.

Maggie, I hope the stores have a good season because they will be hiring which is good for the economy.

Mitchel,

Way too early.  I like Nordstrom's sign, which says, "we celebrate one holiday at a time".  On the other hand, I want our retail world to succeed and do well.  A

I went to Home Depot the other day,  the trees were up and the Christmas music was playing.  Way to early to be thinking about Christmas....

Hi Mitchell - Not the first that I have seen, but certainly one of the most beautiful.  Maybe I will actually make a trip to New York this year to enjoy the holiday season--nothing like Christmas in New York City!
