Who Knows Which End Is Up?????

Some of us are working in a marketplace that is  more active than other areas.  What does one do if their marketplace has minimal activity?  If your inventory is low or void, what will your next step be?

I know that my inventory has had a reduction from last years'.   I know I need to make a change to compensate for that reduction.  We all market differently, and we need to continue to make the phone ring.  Marketing is what I do, and I have been very successful in making the phone ring.  I can't stop now!!

Our active listing inventory is down by 30%, but inventory is down everywhere.  Prices are up, but our number of sales has declined.  I need to make up the difference in our inventory by marketing in another area with a "hometown person" from that new area.  There are towns that are ready to accept a different marketing method complimented by Internet marketing.

That's where we are headed.  In which direction will you be going?  We'll all survive, if we know which end is up!!!

nice blog, sorry I can't relate, San Diego, CA has a big market, big inventory, our problem is that we are at the heart of the short sale market, so we have to deal with incompetent banks, it is hell

Henry.....we've had very few short sales...you can count them on one hand...the same with foreclosures....many are upside down and just waiting!!!  others do have equity, and want to scale down.....but those are few and far between.....consumer confidence is down because of unemployment....they never know when it will happen to them.

I choose to continue to keep my eye on the ball. Although the numbers are slowing, I'm still able to get calls. The more I have time, the more the blogsphere will benefit. I've already done alot of driving tours for when it gets too cold. I'm preparing for a storm in my business.

Barbara, our market is stable, but I'm expecting a new surge of foreclsoures next year.  I'm afraid we have several more years of an unstable market.

I haven't used my access card to get into homes in a few weeks...:-(  but today I am showing four houses to a buyer from a sign call and the sign call is on a listing who found me on Active Rain!  I hope I still remember how to show houses.
