Daylight Savings Time

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Residential

I got up late this morning.  It was 8:30.  The first thing I did was to called the showing scheduling service (CSS) because I need to schedule two additional showings for some buyers I am meeting with at 10 this morning.  The phone just rang and rang and rang.  I couldn't figure out what the problem was because the CSS opens at 8 on Sunday morning.  I called the number a 2nd time and then a 3rd time.  I was really puzzled by this point.

Showings can be set up on-line.  I use the on-line service after-hours on a regular basis.  So, I turn on my computer and fire up the browser.  The first thing that I see on my homepage had to do with Daylight Savings Time.  DST.  I had forgotten about DST.  The reason I couldn't reach CSS is because they hadn't open their phone bank yet.

The irony here is that I sent out about 400 DST reminder emails to my friends and clients, urging them to change their clocks on Saturday night and to check their fire alarm batteries.  I should have taken my own advice!

Judith...cute story.  I also got up early and feel like I am running late already.  Guess it will take a few days to feel normal.

Here in Arizona we peacefully go about our business as usual, while most of the rest of the country is busy re-setting a myriad of timers on electrical devices!

I remembered to turn the clock...but I turned it ahead at first.  Glad my wife checked it.

Wish they'd just leave it alone all the time.  Lot's less confusion.
