It is where lenders are needing to know a value of a property but do not want to pay for an appraisal. So they pay Realtors to do a simple appraisal for a lot less money.

Mark, I've been doing BPO's for a few months, I find they are great way to make a little extra cash for the misc items we need. I signed up for several companies online and also told my broker I was interested in doing them. She opened up an old file cabinet with past BPO's and their contact info. I've since signed up with some of them and I am also finding that now with many forclosures looming they are finding me, just signed up with a new company today. BTW this week, I've done 6 all within my sales area for about $600. It's gas money! Good luck!
