Trulia vs. MLS Maps "Survey Says..!"

MLS MAPS vs. TRULIA

As everyone knows, map-based property searching is quickly becoming the next big thing in the marriage of real estate and the internet.  Trulia is one of the first companies to come out and do a really pretty mash-up between property listings and a Google maps.  Many more have followed and will continue to follow, so today... I’m curious what everyone thinks about two current providers of map-based property search.  Which site brings more value to the home shopping consumer and to participating real estate agents, www.Trulia.com or the newest kid on the block, www.MLSMaps.com?

"Survey Says.." You be the judge.

Yes, people are very visual, if you can put a great picture or a interactive map people will play with it and stay on site longer.  That is what you want anyway.

I would probably have to say Trulia just because I know that Keller Williams uploads all of their listings to Trulia and Google Base.  That is at least ONE big company that is sending all of their MLS listings to Trulia.  MLS Maps may catch on...but for now, I would have to go with Trulia!

I really like Trulia for the same reason as Valorie.  It's also very user friendly.

Actually, I like PropertyMaps.com better precisely because it shows you the entire MLS.  KW and other national franchises might upload to Trulia, but guess what?  There are a lot of independent firms out there in the market also doing business!  If you compare markets where both companies have data, like Austin for example, Trulia has 4,400 listings while PropertyMaps has 6,500.  I think PropertyMaps is also much more user friendly, especially because they keep the advertising to a bare minimum.

Hi Chris,

Trulia is making a major play on actually potentially replacing the mls as we know it.  JMHO

We should be invloved more with Trulia.  They'll be more interactive, I feel their voices platform will be much more accessible and interactive very soon.  Time to try catching up..

Later...

Good to see you on AR... Your stuff just Rocks.
