Why? Because...
Perhaps I 'm dating myself when I tell you I remember, and miss, the old neighborhood drug stores, grocery stores and meat markets. Most of all I miss the personal contact and interaction I had with everyone working there.
I remember when employees and employers actually cared for and respected each other. Employees felt safe at their jobs as long as they did their work well.
I remember taking the kids to the drive-in movies so the family could enjoy the movie together...and it didn't cost an arm and a leg. I remember when baseball and football games were affordable, and the entire family went to watch the game together. I also remember when major league players started getting agents and players started demanding rock-star salaries. Soon, only large corporations and the wealthy could afford to attend these games.
I can also remember when BIG BUSINESS started swallowing up neighborhood businesses, and soon wonderful family businesses were forced right out of business.
I miss the "old ways" of doing business, when store clerks actually wanted to assist you. I resent the fact that the MIDDLE CLASS in America has moved closer towards LOWER CLASS, and the few in UPPER CLASS are soaring higher each day!
Perhaps that's why my motto in real estate has always been twofold:
