Lucky Fin

By

For those of you who have read some of my blogs you know that my son Oliver has symbrachydactyly. It is a condition where his hand did not form properly in utero.  This is Oliver dressed as a monkey for Halloween.

Molly Ryan Stapleman's daughter Ryan also has a limb difference.  Molly is making bracelets with a special bead that looks like Nemo's fin.  Check out her link on facebook Bright Shiny Beads  http://www.facebook.com/BrightShinyBeads and check them out!  She makes these for free but if you order more than two any donations would be appreciated.  The important thing is to make children with symbrachydactyly realize that they can do anything!!  I am ordering some today for myself and the girls in my family and giving a donation with my order.  If anyone would like one let me know and I can order it for you or you can go to her facebook page.  The Scottish Rite Hospital provides totally free care for these children including surgeries.  They even have a "Hand Camp" that is free.  These services are free because of people like you who donate.  Anyone who would like to donate to Scottish Rite Hospital can do that too!

If you've seen the movie "Finding Nemo" then you know all about Nemo's "lucky fin" and how being made a little differently doesn't stop him from accomplishing anything. I came across the orange foil beads and they reminded me of Nemo. I made these in celebration of my daughter Ryan as well as all the other children out there with Symbrachydactyly or a limb difference. Due to the wonderfully overwhelming response for the Lucky Fin bracelet I ask you to please make a donation if you are requesting more than two bracelets. To make a donation to the Lucky Fin Project. Go to the Bright Sniny Beads homepage. Cllick on the FBML box and look for the DONATE button. Click on it to make a donation via Paypal. 100% of all donations go to the making and shipping of more Lucky Fin bracelets to others. *Please note that making a donation is NOT a request for a Lucky Fin bracelet. If you would like one please contact me with your request. ♥ Thank you everyone for your support!

THIS Thursday, Nov 11, at the Chili's in Lewisville (35 and Corporate Drive) it's a Chili's
Give Back Day. Eat there anytime during the day (online and to-go orders too!) and
15% of all proceeds go to the Hands Down Group for Scottish Rite. Be sure to Let
them know you are there for Hands Down! We will be there at dinner and would love
to see you!!! Thanks

Mona--Oliver looks as if he really enjoyed being a monkey.  So many kids hate to have anything pulled up over their heads!  What a cutey!  I appreciate the information you share about symbrachydactyly.  I googled it to learn more. My sister-in-law was born with this, but I never knew it had a name---belive it or not.  This is a great place for you to inform people.  Also great of you to share the information on the bracelets.

Mona I had no idea you had a blog, let alone posted about the Lucky Fin bracelets on it! My 10 yr old thought it'd be fun to Google Lucky Fin bracelets to see if anything came up. I was totally shocked to see this. THANK YOU for helping to spread the Lucky Fin Love! I am just honored to be a small part of championing such wonderful children and their families.

with great appreciation, Molly

I could have sworn I left a response before..I think this is when Oliver turned off the power surge protector and maybe it didn't go through.

Lora~ Did you stop at the site?  I hope you liked the bracelets :)

Pat~ Is your sis-in-law involved in any groups? There are some out there and I may be able to help her find some if she is interested.  Oh I think it would be a great stocking stuffer for her...A cool Lucky FIn Bracelet!

Molly~ I would love to do more.   It makes me feel great that she googled them and they popped up!  I'm feelin the love!
