I just had a 40 yr. old married couple drop by the office for a preapproval. I made introductions and invited them back to my office. At first I noticed a slight odor but tried to dismiss it. The moment we entered my office and closed the door, it hit me. This was not a slight odor, this was a down right nasty, take your breath away stink. It was hard to compose myself and keep from choking.
Needless to say, I did a qualification in record time. "Sup rise" I was not able to help them.
After they left, we opened doors, lit candles & went through a can of Lysol. I have been dealing with the public for 35 years and this was without a doubt the most uncomfortable encounter EVER..
To put it in real estate terms, my office is now "Stigmatized". My co-workers will not come in my office. When I called the referring agent to follow up and THANK HIM, he was busy fumigating his office.
I'm curious to hear from others that might have had such a memorable encounter. Did you throw them out? Did you stick it out?
