Thinking About Switching To A Droid Type Phone?

Are you thinking about switching to a smartphone? If you are and you'r an agent and your carrier is Verizon I think you should head my warning. My Blackberry Storm died and I was up for an upgrade so I decided to switch to the android platform.

I did a bit of reserch and i decided to get the Droid X as my replacement. I had read and heard great things and I must admit my Storm left much to be desired. I received my new phone on Saturday and I was excited to the prospect of a phone that actually worked. My Storm got to the point I couldn't even type and for a real estate agent that's not good.

My Droid arrived and I activated it and I was thoroughly impressed. I did feel a bit of guilt for switching brands but this phone is so much more like the iPhone. Then began the headache! It wasn't 8 hours when the Droid started to fail by rebooting itself time and time again. At times it wold just shut off on it's own. Can you imagine not being able to rely on your cell phone to stay on? Talk about a real estate agent's nightmare.

So for all of you thining about switching to the Droid X on Verizon I would caution you to think twice. Now, I'm off to Verizon to exchange my phone out.

I love my Blackberry Torch.  It's an amazing device that can do it all and most importantly you will get your instant emails back as they have their own towers.

Victor,

I have had the Sprint HTC Evo since it came out in June, with Android 2.2 OS, and have hardly tapped the potential.

Haven't had the experience of it turning itself off, although I did have to have the touch screen replaced last month.

No regrets here.

Victor,

I am glad you posted your initial experience.  I would be very interested in hearing more about your future with the Droid phone, as I am told that people really love them.  I phone owners are very vocal, practically stop you on the street to tell you how great their phone is, but when TechSavvyAgent did a survey, more hands were raised for the Droid than for the I phone.  Keep us posted!

I have an iPhone and I am enjoying it very much. I recently got a Mac computer and that I am not enjoying quite so much because you cannot do all the things that you can do with the windows operating system. But, that's another blog post, right?
