On Saturday, November 6th several friends and I walked in the 7th Annual Heather Saler 5K Lungevity Walk along the Cooper River in Pennsauken, NJ. It was a beautiful, sunny and blustery day with a great turn-out of fellow participants. As of Sauturday afternoon this event raised $90,000. Lung cancer is the leading killer out all cancers and is the least funded. More and more non-smokers and those that have stopped smoking many years ago are diagnosed with this disease. As someone said " if you have a set of lungs, you have a chance of getting lung cancer."
The LUNGevity Foundation aims to improve lung cancer survival rates, ensure a higher quality of life for lung cancer patients, and provide a community for those impacted by lung cancer.
