Very cool, Charlie. Congrats on such a high-profile interview. You do an amazing job interviewing him too. How are you not on CNN by this point in your life?

Charlie,  It's pretty neat that you got to interview that guy.  But I have to disagree with much of what he said.

Starting with whether or not the Federal Reserve is a government agency or a private corporation.  Sure, it was created by an act of Congress but it is a a privately owned banking cartel. Read about how it came about.  The bankers got together in a secret meeting on Jekyll Island and worked it all out.  Then they got their cronies to get the bill passed  when no one was looking on Christmas Eve of 1913.

I don't know how he could keep a straight face and say that the Federal Reserve acts independently because you just couldn't have Congress print up money whenever they want to spend more.  He said that would be monetizing the federal debt.  Tell me what this quantitative easing is if it's not monetizing the federal debt.  Thomas Hoening, the lone federal reserve board dissenter said that that was exactly what it was.

This guy isn't going to tell you what's really going on.  He has to tow the party line.

I did a quick Google search and came up with someone else who interviewed someone from the Fed.  Those are the questions I wish you would have asked.

I  knew nothing about the Federal Reserve until three years ago when I made it my research project.  The more you read about it, the more crazy you find that our system is.  It's really fascinating learning about our money system and it's history.  I  hope more people begin to take an interest in it because we need to make sure we do the right thing if we want to continue as a country.

Thank you all for your comments and I guess Pandoras braclelets some how beats our spam filters. I found the interview to be very enlightening and  really have no reason to doubt the sincerity of the interviewer. Being wrong does not make him dishonest Tim. It just makes him wrong, if indeed he is. But the main thrust of the mountian real estate report is to ,along with getting out our name, provide a wide range of information to folks about real estate in general in the mountains. Future shows will include a fire cheif interview on fire safety, an insurance interview on how and what to insure as well as Linda and I working together to passon information about our real estate market. Thank you all for your comments

Charlie, thanks for sharing this article.  My information is that "bank runs" are actually something that is created by the banks.  In Canada our information states that the Federal Reserve is named very cunningly to "suggest" that they are a national bank but, in actuality, it is in fact a Private Entity.  More on this in the Money Masters, a great documentary on the history of this institution on Youtube.  Being a "creation of congress" doesn't mean that they are a government entity, and I think the answer provided by Tom has obfuscated the question.  I suggest you have a look at this film.  Jark
