For many reasons, the North Shore neighborhoods in Staten Island have more in common with areas of Manhattan and Brooklyn than most of Staten Island, while still maintaining a small-town feel.
A diverse population, a multitude of restaurants and bountiful public transportation give a more urban feel to this community. At the same time, residents can enjoy the lovely wide-open spaces; trees line many streets and parks are plentiful. Just a bridge away from the shores of New Jersey, the North Shore enjoys the best of both worlds.

Plentiful public transportation to this area includes the ferry to Manhattan, several bus depots and the Staten Island Expressway, making it easy to get around the island and beyond.
Low residential turnover enhances this diverse neighborhood's feeling of family and community. Affordability, wide-open spaces, graceful Victorians, family-run businesses and a nod to the past in almost every edge of the architecture gives the North Shore a small-town feel with the excitement and enterprise of Manhattan near-by.
Local points of interest include the Staten Island Zoo, Silver Lake Park, Wagner College, Snug Harbor Cultural Center, the brand new Casa Belvedere, St Johns College, Clove Lake Park and a public golf course. With so many indoor and outdoor activities available, residents won't need to leave this vibrant, growing neighborhood to find everything they need.
