Getting your house ready for sale is a great opportunity for donating unused items to charity. It is especially timely now that the holidays are nearing.
I'm sure that everyone with children or grandchildren or co-workers with children or if you live within 28 miles of children (you get the idea) - has most surely been hit up for a fundraiser or ten. They are done often and there is generally a hard press to contribute. We refer fondly to the school's weekly newsletter as the Money Envelope.
But with the Holidays coming, I can't help but be touched by the fundraising pamphlets that came with this week's newsletter and I thought that AR would be a great place to pass on the information.
Hope Unlimited for Children rescues children living on the streets in Brazil.
Operation Christmas Child sends gift-filled shoeboxes to needy children worldwide. This one was especially fullfilling to the kids because they helped fill the boxes and turned them into the school.
Obviously these are just a few of thousands of charities that can be found- many in your local area if you prefer. The purpose is supporting one another, teaching our children kindness and the importance of charity for so many that need so much- not just toys but basic things that you and I take for granted.
Please share your favorite charities, it can bring awareness and inspiration to others.
