With An Additional $220 In Savings, I Would Buy Food For Families In Need.
Several years ago I was helping deliver Santa Claus to a needy family with three of the cutest little boys with the biggest brown eyes. With help from the Church and private donations, these precious little children had the Christmas of their dreams. While shopping for the children we held out some money to go to the grocery store, so they could have a fabulous Christmas Dinner. I was so excited with the delivery that Christmas Eve. When we carried the groceries to the kitchen the children's mother started to cry. She showed me the only thing in the cabinet which was a large can of beef stew that was going to be their Christmas dinner. When she showed me this, I started to cry. We always hear of children going hungry in other countries, but this does not happen in your own home town.
Each year Wynn-Dixie, a grocery store in Pell City, AL, packs up grocery bags with food that can be purchase for $5.00 or $10.00 per bag. After the bag of food is purchased, it is placed in a large container, so it can be delivered to area families in need. It puts joy in my heart each year to be able to make food donations. If I saved $220.00 this year, I could add many more bags for the area families in need.
This post is for the ActiveRain 'I could save $220 with Kodak Contest. I have a chance to win a free Kodak Printer, $220 in cash to use for the idea in my blog post, and an extra $100 to use toward ink!"
