Veterans' Benefits! Regarding our Veterans service.
Today, 11.11.2010, I am reminded that my father served in the Army from 1943 thru 1945; or from 19 years of age thru 21. It’s hard to imagine my father, at that age, fighting for his country’s freedom....our country’s freedom.
Recently I applied for Veterans' Benefits for my mother, who is in assisted living. Many veterans or spouses are not aware of the Dependency and Indemnity Compensation available. For more information, go to: http://www.va.gov .
When I received the military records, it was a copy of a carbon copy. In those days, the only way to make a copy was with carbon paper or a mimeograph machine…..suddenly, I feel old.
Here is a tip for Veterans (or anyone that knows a Veteran) that will be dealt with in more detail in a later post. As an American and an Arizona REALTOR®
all Veterans should be aware that as for Veterans Benefits, the 1st time home buyer $8,000 tax credit has been extended to April 30, 2011. As well, the $6,500 tax credit for Veterans that are previous home buyers is also available thru April 30 2011. Stay tuned for future posts and details on this subject.
