The Holiday Season is a great time for First Time Home Buyers to give themselves the gift of a great buy on a new home. In many conversations I hear that people are holding off buying or selling during the holidays and will wait until spring to get back into the market. This mindset works in favor of the serious Buyer and Seller who is ready to take action today.
Currently for First Time Home buyers in Washington State there are some awesome programs sponsored by the Washington State Housing Finance Commission (WSHFC). The WSHFC offers both 1st and 2nd mortgage programs for people who fit within the criteria around these programs. The WSHFC has enrolled Local Lenders and Real Estate Brokers to teach a free seminar for Buyers that not only educates them on all the various mortgage programs, it also walks them through the real estate process so they will feel they have the knowledge needed to make a wise and informed decision. Many clients we have worked with weren't even planning on using a WSHFC program and after the event felt much more confident in their decision to purchase a home and how the process involved works.
