Madison Alabama Real Estate: August Summary and Current Market Conditions

Here are the Madison statistics for the month of August as of today September 6, 2007. I am very excited to report that there were 86 homes sold and closed in Madison City during August!!! This is a very slight decrease from the 92 Madison homes that were sold this month last year. There are also currently 50 homes under contract and pending sale. There are some parts of the country that are really experiencing sluggish market conditions right now but Madison has kept a steady pace.
The average number of days on the market for the Madison area is currently 82 days which is slightly above the overall average for Huntsville. The average price of sold homes in Madison for August was $259,601 and this month last year, the average selling price of Madison homes was $241,576. The median sale price for the month of July was $237,630.
