Madison County Real Estate Update

Well here we are and it is time to recap how our real estate market performed in the month of August!!!  Thank you for all the great feedback on the market reports.   I plan to continue sending them out so you will know how our market is performing during the month.

Here we are ready to recap our Madison County statistics for the month of August as of September 6, 2007.  I am very excited to report that there were 564 homes sold in Madison County during the month of August!!!  The same month last year there were 611 homes sold so we are down slightly.  You never know what the market may do from one day to the next so it is good that we are still doing well!!

Almost half of the homes sold (258 or 46%) in Madison County were sold in Huntsville.  For the month of August, our county saw an average time on the market of 93 days.  The same month last year was as average of 113 days so there was a slight decrease.  The average selling price this month was $200,069 and the median selling price was $175,612.

Hi Kimberly, I'm glad for you that your DOM has declined. It also looks like absorption rate is good. It looks like you might avoid the problems of the western markets.
