A Screaming Deal - was 3.4 Million --- sold at Auction for 1.5 million

Sleeper House

This great home with history of filming "Sleeper" with Woody Allen, was in foreclosure, and I posted this back late October.    My previous blog had details.

What a deal --- Michael Dunahay paid 3.43 million and was in foreclosure.    Yesterday, a Denver investor John Dilday, a regular on the auction circuit was the winner at the auction for $1 over the minimum bid.    Dilday picked up this home for $1.5 million.

This investor had made it very public, he would be flipping the home to other investors.    The previous owner was present for this auction.

This investor picked up a home with history, and the most unique home in the Denver area --- just west, in Genesee.

Sherilyn,   Had a buyer planned for Friday, and had an email 6:30 this morning to change her mind, and ONLY could show her today from PA!    WOW, that is getting back into the swing of things VERY quickly.   TRYING to catch up still.    If you have not seen this house, you need to take a trip out I-70, it is pretty kewl!

Rebecca, I was thinking this was quite the deal.    Just wonder how much work needs to be done on this property??

Joan, that upside down living is fabulous.  That view is one of the few where you can really say "absolutely stunning" with honesty!

What a really cool house.  It looks like it would be a lot of fun to live in (even for big kids like me).

Stephanie, yes, the sale date was scheduled for Nov. 10th.    Unless the seller pays up, the sale date remains the same.

Charita, they used to have a lot of charity events in this home --- as the previous home owner was very generous.

Joan - I haven't thought of that movie in years.  It would take a very particular individual to want to make that house home...and to afford it, but it looks like this buyer got a deal.

Pam, depending on how much repair needs to be done to be livable, I still think it was a deal!

Wow, that is a super cool house. Not something I would want to live in but I can imagine Google or Facebook setting it up as a corporate loaner house. Just proves the old saying: The rich are different.

Hi Joan - I actually know where this house is - you can see it from I-70 as you are heading toward Evergreen. Always enjoyed seeing it when we lived out that way!

That’s my kind of house, as long as it has some land so that I can have a garden.

Russel, it did have acreage, but with the elevation, the growing season is shortened.
