Hi Georgina~  I live in a subdivision that doesn't allow you to hang your clothes out to dry.  Sometimes it is just so nice to be able to do just that!  At our farm, we will do exactly as we please!

Hello Georgina and there is nothing fresher than hanging clothes to dry outdoors ...

Vickie - there is a trend here towards allowing clotheslines now in subdivisions.  It's part of our energy independence policy for the state.  I think it's a good trend.

VB - you know it.  I love the sound of sheets snapping in the breeze.

Kathy - thanks!  I always try to have some kind of tie in.  As you know, it's these little things like being able to have a clothesline, or being able to have a goat, that can make or break a deal!

We spend a lot of money buying dryer sheets with names like "Spring Mist" or "Ocean Breeze". Sounds to me like hanging your clothes out to dry in Maui would put the dryer sheet companies out of business!

Georgina - that sure brings back memories - we used to ALL dry our clothing on the line when I was growing up and in Germany they STILL DO!

Georgina, having a cloths line would be nice when you want to air out the area rugs.    It would also save on the electric bills instead of having the dryer run all the time.

Hey Georgina, what type of camera do you use? or is it photo shop? What you capture has such a classic style to it and you make it feel like there is some story or importance for why you photographed these particular materials or sections of the home...or sky :) very nice and poetic :) At least...that is my perspective :) The artist within...have a great day!

Georgina, what a clever post and it brought back memories of a swing I used to play on that was attached to one if the T's that held our clothes lines. Sometimes I would just lay back with ny legs still in the swing and stare at clouds! Very cool!

Laura - these are all taken with my iphone.  Lately I have been on a iphone photo kick, and then altering the images through app filters for that old fashioned look.  It makes for different effects that you just can't get with a normal digital camera.  I'm glad it make you stop and think.  I was just having fun and this group of pictures jumped out at me and begged to be in a blog post.

Russell and BJ - memories of childhood. emotions. buying decisions.... follow the breadcrumb trail.  BUY a home on Maui. lol
