Waxhaw, North Carolina is an historic town located in the western part of Union County. Named after the Native American tribe who originally inhabited the region, the Town of Waxhaw dates from the 1770s.
A bedroom community of the state's largest city, Charlotte, Waxhaw offers the best of suburban living with nature just outside the back door and culture just around the corner. Spring Fest - Crafts, food, and a festival atmosphere are the focus for the second weekend in May in Downtown Waxhaw.
Autumn Treasures - This preholiday festival is held the second weekend in October in Downtown Waxhaw.
July 4th Parade
Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting - The Waxhaw Christmas Parade, Snack with Santa and official tree lighting ceremony take place on the second Sunday in December.
Military Ceremonies - Locals honor all military personnel on both Veteran's Day and Memorial Day with a remembrance ceremony on Main Street.
Scottish Games- The Waxhaw Scottish Society annually celebrates its Scottish roots with music, dance, competitions, and Celtic fun in late October.
Queen's Cup Steeplechase - Held every April, the Queen's Cup Steeplechase brings horses, sunshine, and the beautiful people all together in one event.
Waxhaw Farmers Market - Saturdays from 9am -1pm, join the locals downtown for "Good Folks, Good Food, Good Fun" as the fare changes seasonally at the Farmers Market.
