Ursinus Field Hockey
Today the Ursinus Bears hosted the one of the four regional finals for Division III field hockey. They defeated Middlebury College 3-0. My daughter, Megan, has played for the Bears for 4 years and played her final game on Eleanor Frost Snell field.
The Bears will travel to Christopher Newport University where the finals for Division III field hockey will be played. The Bears will play a very familiar foe in Messiah College.
I soaked in today. I relished the game, the friendships I have developed over the years and the meal we shared together after the game at Coach Molliken's house. This chapter of my life, my daughter's life and our family life is quickly closing. Granted we still have next weekend and the possibility of playing for the championship, if we win on Saturday.
Life keeps moving forward and the last 4 years have gone so quickly. There is a time and a season for everything under the sun...This season is closing. It is inevitable and I found myself a bit pensive this afternoon.
I give thanks for this chapter. I am grateful for the friendships I have developed. I am grateful for the gift of competition which causes us to strive to do our best. I am thankful for the lessons of teamwork and winning and losing together.
Are you finding the blessing of the current chapter in which you reside? Are you making the most of it. Are you living fully in the moment.
In all give thanks...
