MY BROKER SUCKS! - PART 1 OF 3

My broker sucks, and I can give you several reasons why.Bad language

First, she's not like me at all!  She doesn't understand that just because it works for her, that doesn't mean that it will work for me!  Who does she think she is?  Just because she's been in the business for over 20 years doesn't mean that she knows what's best for me.  Humph.  The NERVE!

Do this and that, go here then thereAnd some of the stuff she wants me to do from our coaching sessions!  Good grief.  I don't even have time to sleep for goodness sake!  She is telling me that 20% of what I do will bring me 80% of my business.  In this market that just doesn't sound correct.  And on top of that, there are client phone calls, calls to other agents to follow-up on showings or listings, emails and community notices for the neighborhood to my A-List, and BLOGGING for goodness sake!  When am I going to find time to all of this, and take care of my clients and listings?

And, Women's Council and Chamber of Commerce meetings and events don't count in my 60-80 hour per week time commitment?  Who is she kidding?  Hey, I'm just an ordinary guy, not SUPERMAN!Which way do I go?

To be perfectly honest, I was in a bit of a slump over the past few months.  And, yes, everything was NOT MY FAULT!  I was really, really good at rationalizing everything that I was doing, and justifying everything that I wasn't doing.  So guess what, my broker decided that what I needed was some 1 on 1 coaching!

Well, I could say that I dug my heels in and said NO WAY!  However, my broker suggested initially that I start doing some daily reading and journaling.  Yeah, like that's going to help.  Well, the short version is that she suggested a good book for me to read.  Reading this book challenged me to reflect on some things, especially my ATTITUDE, and that got me moving in a different direction.

Stay tuned, to learm more about why MY BROKER SUCKS! PART 2 OF 3!

Hey You - what are you talking about.  Your broker thinks you are a great agent!  She's doens't think of you as a victim - or at least she won't let you get away with it for long!!!

Love the tongue in cheek approach. That alone tells me your attitude shift will work wonders.

That was great!  I"m a Broker so I couldn't wait to hear what you had to say.  I too have weekly coaching sessions with my agents that need it...funny thing is, the one that REALLY needed it wouldn't do what I advised, lol.  I now walk around with ear plugs in when they are around me. Ha!

Well, about 30 lines into my comment I realized that I created a post. So I"ll just say "good luck" and invite you over to my place for my two cents.

this job could suck up the entire week if you let it...balance is one of the hardest things for realtors to practice.  especially when sales are harder and harder to get to closing...we feel like we should always be  there "making something happen"

I as a independent broker I agree with comment #6. Many times my agents are in need of a kick in their physiological pants. To often I find thumb sucking not to be very productive.

I'm looking forward to part 2 and 3. Brokers are not supposed to be our always understanding friends. They are there to push us to greater personal growth and professional success. And sometimes that hard works sucks!

They say Attitude is 20% what happens to you and 80% what you do with it. I'm a glass half full person so my attitude is pretty upbeat most of the time - and btw, you have a good broker. She wants you to succeed!
