Multitasking ~ ActiveRain Style...

Multitasking ~ ActiveRain Style...

multitasking - activerain style...Unless you are living on another planet or still stuck on dial-up <sigh>, you have undoubtedly noticed the server slowdown and the increase in proxy errors over the past few weeks.

Like me, many of you can only allot so much time to social media and ActiveRain. Then it is off to work either in or on your business. Between commenting, reading and posting, you are probably like me and earmark 1-2 hours as part of your marketing routine.

1 hour can quicky expand into 1-1/2 with slow server responses and leave you feeling frustrated. The solution? Multitask ActiveRain style. By using 2 browsers, You can write your post on one and comment on the other. Saves time and keeps your urinary tract from getting upset. And here they said that I was only good looking...

P.S. Hopefully the guru's will fix the hitch in the giddyup soon. I'm all out of wax, my string is frayed and my oatmeal can has about had it...

I am a multi-taber (PC thing), and the slow down has cut down on my commenting as a result. Today seems to be a little better. Still much better than when they were switching over to the new servers.... silver lining is in there somewhere. ;-)

I have noticed this too...wondered if it was AR or my computer!  I don't have the ability to do four screens, but I can do split screens and when I am blogging it is essential.  Write in one and Google/Picture/Picnik, etc in the other!   lol

OK, that's just way too much multi-tasking for me! I have enough trouble with one monitor. But your point about AR slowdowns is well taken. I had to give up early last night when I couldn't get my work done in a timely manner.

Michael, Yesterday I returned to the office and Active Rain after a few days away and I was about to scream with the slow speed.  I had way to much to do to deal with that but maybe the Active Rain gods and goddesses can do something about that.  Hmmmm

Yes, I sometimes open multiple Active Rain windows, especially when I am writing a localism post. In regard to the speed issues, wasn't sure whether that was AR or too many Firefox windows open. BTW - who said you were good looking?

Howdy and afternoon to you Michael

Michael, the AR community sure has been running mighty slow of late. I really think that they should go in and clean out the blogs of those that have not been active for over two years. Which a lot of those have all kinds of the moving kind of widgets.

I know of over 3000 such blogs that members have not been active since 2007, which would tell me they are not coming back to the AR community. But AR does not want to do that, seeing that would drop the number showing for their membership.

Have a good one

Still doesn't help speed up AR. I think the 2 browsers might be slowing down the server...

Michael - The slowdown of the ActiveRain servers has become more and more noticeable recently.  The one "postiive" thing is that we are not getting proxy and gateway errors.
