Cell Phones Go Public This Month

Dont call me...All cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies this month and you will start to receive calls. You may be charged for these calls depending on your service plan. Don't give up hope!

Call the National Do Not Call List at 888-382-1222 from the cell phone you wish to register and it will block the number for five (5) years. It won't work except from the cell phone you are attempting to block.

Brent & Deb, thanks for the info. I find that some gutsy telemarketers don't seen to care about the do not call list.

@Ted - I agree, my main concern is being distracted from all the potential non-business related calls.

You can go to the website- register the numbers, they send an email to confirm (instead of calling from your cell. I just did it, it took about a minute.

Sorry folks, but this thing has been debunked so many times, I'm surprised it is still popping up.  Cell phones are NOT going out to telemarketers.  PLEASE, stop spreading mis-information.  For more details see the following Snopes article.

@Craig - They are not being mass distributed like our land lines were, but they are fair game. The 888 number does indeed remove you from a viable call list. So it is valid. Thanks for stopping by...
