When scheduling an inspection, be sure to ask how much it will cost.  Cost vary dramatically from region to region.  A typical single family home may cost in the range of $300-$500 for the inspection.  Larger homes may be more expensive.  Also, if the inspector is doing ancillary inspections, like radon or mold, make sure to have them quote a price before the process begins.

Rich, this piggy backs your last post. Buyers should clearly understand the cost involved and what services will be provided.  I tell people never to make a choice based solely on who is cheaper...
