My colleague told me about this great tool from Google (thank you Mike & Google!), called Google Trends. It allows you to see what cities/urban centers are most interested in a particular topic, with additional tools that allow you to see the information on an annual basis, monthly basis, or some other permutation. Who's looking for "Costa Rica real estate"?
I wanted to find out who was using Google's search engine to search for the phrase Costa Rica real estate. So, I typed that in and got my results for the year of 2007. Some of the results surprised me, but others did not. Some of the surprises I found were that 3 city centers in Canada were in that top 10 list. What didn't surprise me was that urban centers with a large population of seniors and real estate investors fell into this list.
