The long awaited seventh installment of the Harry Potter series, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," will premiere on November 19th.  Although the movie is expected to draw record audiences, it may not suit all tastes.  If you are in Marietta, Georgia on this day,  and prefer more classical movie fare, spend the evening the lovely Earl Strand Theatre on Marietta Square.  If fact, why not return next Friday and wind down from Thanksgiving festivities.  The Strand's curtain is about to rise on another fantastic line-up of classic and cult classic movies including "sing-alongs."

Sing Along with Mamma Mia (PG-13). Friday, Nov. 19, 8 PM. Relive the fun and celebration with the sparkling Mamma Mia! Set on the colorful Greek island of Kalokairi, the plot serves as a lively background for a wealth of ABBA songs. A young woman soon to be married discovers that any one of three men (Pierce Brosnan, Stellan Skarsgård, Colin Firth) could be her father. She invites all three to the wedding without telling her mother, Donna (Meryl Streep). Tickets are $8 for adults and $7 for children, students, and seniors.

Sing Along with the Sound of Music (G). Friday, Nov 26, 8 PM. Join Julie Andrews as she sings "The hills are alive..." in this popular family flick. In Rodgers and Hammerstein's greatest collaboration, a feisty nun (Julie Andrews) is sent to care for the unruly, motherless Von Trapp children.  She soon tames them, and finds herself falling for their stern father (Christopher Plummer). Live organ pops variety show and sing-along at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $8 for adults and $7 for children, students, and seniors.
