Growing is not knowing

Services for Real Estate Pros with Sharon Lee's Virtual Assistance

Growing is not knowing.

Have you ever heard the phrase "knowing stands in the way of learning?" It is so true.  The greatest learning phases always come into your life when you are open-minded.

Sometimes it's when you start school, start a new job, start going to a new church, start a new relationship, start a new hobby or sport, or have a child.  The key common factor is open-mindedness, admitting that you don't know it all and openly desire to learn.

Hold onto open-mindedness in all things.  The one thing we know for sure is that we don't yet know all things.  In fact, we don't even yet know all that we don't know!

And remember: "Growing is NOT knowing!"

Sharon, that's quite a picture.  Sometimes when we think we know it all something comes along to remind us how little we actually know.

It is so true. They say that more we know , more we doubt. There is so much out there! We do have to keep our minds open.

Sharon, great point, nothing stops progress more than someone who thinks they already "know better"!

Sharon, a phrase in growing is "Jump and the net will appear." Going forward we can't know ALL the answers and we just move forward. Don't wait for ALL the traffic lights to turn green for that first step. Great concept you brought up for talking about. A week from Thanksgiving. I hope you are getting ready. You are one of MY blessings. A THANKFUL year for YOU too!!!

Good luck and success.

Hi Sharon ~ I just love meeting like minded people. I couldn't agree more with the sentiments of this post. I'm all about stretching my mind. Thinking you know everything is a sure fire way of not learning anything.

Wonderful picture too.

Denise-So do I. If we do stretch ourselves we can become complacent and that is never a good thing. Glad you like the picture. Have a super weekend.

Another thing struck me about this post Sharon and that was your emphasis on being open minded. That seems to be lost on a lot of people as they get older, and sometimes we have to push our close mindedness out of our systems in order to let that "learning" as you said get in there.

Hi Sharon, I love those growing pains!  The older I get the more I find out what I don't know.  Funny, I thought I had it all figured out when I was a teenager! LOL

Hi Sharon, that's an interesting picture. I once heard that when you stop learning you start dying as learning is so vital to living. I like your perspective.

Gary-We benefit in life more when we are open-minded. You miss out on so many wonderful opportunities when you close your mind. I think when you close your mind you close your heart and that is such a waste of life. Thanks for coming back.

Mary-I think we both had those same growing pains. It is funny how we think we got all the answers without all the years of wisdom.

Mel-I love pics of all kinds. Glad you like that one and you are welcome. They say your day is never wasted when you learned something new. Thank you for stopping in.

Teral-I agree 100%. They just haven't buried us yet. I am a lifelong learner and hope I never know it all and am always open to learning. Glad you like the pic. Thank you for visiting.
