Hold on Baby, it's slippery out there!
It's just after 9am and I finally made it to the coffee shop, took me over an hour! The first slick day on our roads is always a "re-learning" experience, for everybody! Even if I'm careful, and don't go too fast (or too slow), I'm always way worried about the other guy who's driving somewhere in my space.
I took my car to the shop, Brown's Auto (famous around here) for a scheduled oil change. My husband has the day off so he can pick me up and we can hang around while the car gets it's oil fix. Poor Dick, who is one of the front desk manager guys, had the most worried look on his face! He looked like he was shell-shocked "incoming".
The phone is ringing off the hook, he's trying to find tows for people in the ditch, "as soon as I can round up some spare people, we'll come get that thing and haul it in here" he says to the caller.
I hope they can survive this first icy day and all the "work" it brings to their business. I hope everyone gets to work and back home safely. We'll all be expert drivers by the end of the weekend, just that little experience of the next couple of days will be a great "re-learning" experience.
Take it easy out there, wear your seatbelt and stay off the dang cell phone!
