RainMaker as an Active Philosophy
You are influential. Everyone is influential.
Think about that statement. Let it reel in your mind for a moment. Steep yourself in your personal culture.
For good, bad, or worse, you are influential. You wake up in the morning and check your smartphone for fires that need suppressing. Some of you will send your kids to school, then clothe yourself in an outfit of choice (a slim pair of dark Levi’s, unique graphic tee, and a pair of All Stars for me). You’ll succeed or fail to eat a breakfast nutritionists swear is the most influential meal of the day, then head to work.
You’ll hop in your car, which by influence is most likely a Lexus branded SUV, arrive to your office and chat around the water cooler or caffeine filled canteen, and get briefed as to what your peers have been up to in the 15 hours since you saw them last (nothing really monumental).
By this time you’ve already checked your Blackberry or iPhone 36 times in an obsessive-compulsive manner that can only be explained by a trained mental health professional (sue me if I'm wrong; my twitter handle is @Willurban). The hope of a new lead justifies the behavior, right???
Everything we do and the decisions we make possess some gravity of influence. Without fail these actions echo back. That moment brings back positivity or negativity.
You may or may not be taking advantage of your potential influence on ActiveRain. In terms of Real Estate content, our website has the media equivalent of the summit of Everest. Here’s some advice... you can’t conquer or tame it! However, you can leverage the platform, influence other members, and most importantly farm new clients with your blog.
Perception without challenge is often reality, folks. If you’re a RainMaker and you’re not blogging publicly, there’s a problem. If you’re not a RainMaker and you would like to honor yourself and build a sphere of influence (leading hundreds of consumers to your website per blog post), call me now, email me, or send up smoke signals... I promise to watch the skies!
