One of my favorite activities in autumn, is attending the Harvest Festival - Original Art and Craft Show, which is held at Cal Expo each year.  The event presents a wonderful opportunity to view delightful crafts and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy.

I find it a great way to launch my holiday shopping.  Always a great place to order personalized gifts for family and friends. . .Jewelry, and a multitude of other craft projects.

Harvest Festival began today and runs through the weekend!

Good Morning Myrl, Harvest festival sounds like an enjoyable activity. Love getting those personalized gifts that you just can't get at the big box stores!

Hi Myrl, I love to go our Harvest Festival here but I missed it this year. I don't usually buy much but it is always fun to see the crafts that people make and I appreciate them.

Robert - Do you ever sell your wares at any of these events?  I'll bet you could put out some of your photography work and do pretty well.

Jack - I'm likely to miss this event this year because of the weather.  We are just having the second storm roll through this weekend.  It's not really pleasant enough to be going out and about.

Larry and Shiela - That's what I enjoy about craft's fairs too.  The fact that you don't turn it over and see, "Made in China" on the back.

Rebecca - I remember one year finding really wonderful holiday decorations to put on the dining table.  And I've managed to buy a few handmade wooden toys when my grandkids were younger.  They still have some of them to this day.

William - This was the second day of the event here in Sacramento.  It's really windy and stormy outside.  I've pretty much worked around the house all day.  It is likely to be worse tomorrow, so I'm missing this year's event too.

I just love this time of year when all the pre-holiday festivals start. So much fun and just being outside in the gorgeous weather is wonderful! (Usually). Sorry you're missing this one.

Hi Myrl - I love those festivals and my wife can't walk buy jewelery vendors without stopping to look. It just gives me more time for photos! :-) She just got back from the Mt. Dora Antique Extravaganza.
